May 27 Shame6. Ashamed People were watching the trailer of the movie 'World Trade Center' in front of the big screen which was erected high up there in the waiting-hall. Maybe a trailer was too short to make them realize that they should be ashamed for some reasons. Shame, a sense which is believed to be an element of human nature, may sometimes be a stranger to us. We are often too busy to feel ashamed, whereas there is so much for us to be ashamed of. 'World Trade Center' -- it's a movie concerned about responsibility, honor, respect, sacrifice and, what is no less important, love. We should all make an introspection whether these senses have left us. If they have, can we return them to us as soon as possible to make sure that we are real and complete human-beings? This is a huge question. Spirit and material, which should take the first place? Is it a fact that the bigger responsibility you take and the more sacrifice you make, the more honor and respect you receive? It happens sometimes, but for most of the time we are forced to face a disappointed truth. Actually, we are neglected by others so often as we neglect the sense of shame. I am talkative, but I never talk to strangers I met on plane or train or any kind of vehicle. Strangers make me feel unsecure. There were so many strangers in the waiting hall. I was never ready to talk to any of them. However, I began to watch them and make guesses about their identities. If I ever thought I could see who they were by what I saw, I must have been very very wrong. 'Mulan' is by no means one of my favorite movies, but its song is one of the fews that I may sing out subconciously. Reflextion is often conveying some inaccurate or even untrue information which might lead you into a labarinth when you are entirely unaware of it. There are mask wearers everywhere and only very experienced people can see them through. 'Look at me, you may think you see who I really am. But you'll never know me.' A passer-by was humming, 'If I wear a mask, I can fool the world. But I can't fool myself.' It is the very truth that we can't deceive ourselves, which some people are just too smart to realize. I didn't anyone in this spacious waiting hall. I only knew me, my bag and my cellphone which had already informed my friends about my coming-back. |
