    The Ugly Girl

    4. the ugly girl
All of a sudden, I saw a familiar face among the crowds that came back and forth in the waiting hall of the air port.  She lives just upstairs.  I call her 'the ugly girl'.
The ugly girl makes noise at the same time every day, which she calls 'working out'.  I remember what I saw when I couln't bare the noise any more and walked upstairs to complain to her.
As I was approaching her room, I heard some coach's voice:'up, down, up, down...'  It must have come from her computer, I supposed.  Her door was not shut.  I could see her clearly from the corridor.  She WAS working out, as she always states.  As she jumped up and down, waving her fat arms around, her sweater was wet through, leaving a small area of the floor covered with sweat.
She tried hard to keep pace with the music and the instruction of the coach from the computer video.  I could hear she was breathing hard.  She was almost out of breath, but she carried on as if she didn't care at all.
Poor ugly girl!  I found I could complain nothing in this scenario.  I  turned around and went back to my room.
The ugly girl always envies those who have got a slim body.  No!  A skinny body!  Everytime I offer her something good to eat, her response is always 'No!  I am losing weight!'
'Fancy meeting you here!'  A voice interrupted my recalling.  In front of me stood the ugly girl, wearing a warm smile in her face.
'Hi!  What are you doing here?'  I asked her.  I soon found it was a silly question.  it was obvious that she was about to fly to some where.
'I am going home for my vacation!'  She couldn't hide her excitement.  'I have to go!  My plane's taking off soon.  I'll see you around!'  She went off in a hurry as the loudspeaker repeatedly announced about her plain.  I took a view of her back, which was still like what it was months ago.  Apparently, her working-out didn't work.
I went on texting my short messages to my folks, wearing the same warm smile that I saw on the ugly girl's face.

    destiny

    3.destiny
